# Price Direction Bias

> Expiry × strike heatmap on the Options Chain Report—score in each cell, activity filters, and where positioning clusters.

**Price Direction Bias** is section **2** on the [Options Chain Report](/dashboard/navigation-tips). It is a heatmap of **expiry** (rows) × **strike** (columns).

Each cell shows **score** (printed in the cell and color-coded). Hover for call/put, expiry, strike, delta, median price, and score details.

## Controls

| Control | Purpose |
| - | - |
| **Top % Activity** | Filter by activity threshold |
| **Min Calls/Puts** | Minimum call or put activity filter |
| **Min OI/expiry** | Minimum open interest per expiry |
| **Filter** (funnel) | Additional section filters |

The **Score** color legend on the right shows the live range for that chain (e.g. **0 → \~5.67** call / put).

## What to look for

| Pattern | Plain read |
| - | - |
| **Dark / high-score cells** | More engagement at that strike and expiry vs peers on the symbol |
| **Clusters across strikes** | Positioning concentrated in a band—compare to spot and your strike idea |
| **Sparse / pale rows** | Little activity at that expiry |
| **Score spike at OTM strikes** | Unusual attention at cheaper strikes—worth a closer look, not automatic entry |
